Burial Ground is one of my favorite zombie films. No doubt about it. But what is it about this movie that is so damn good? Well, after seeing the dvd and being able to actually see what was happening in the movie, it is hands down one of those sleazy Italian flicks, packed with gore. To me, that's the charm of it. Tits, zombies, and gore, thats the Italian way.

The premise is simple enough-Group of people trapped in a house. Let's see, we have we seen that before...Night, Dawn, Day...Fulci's Zombie was a variation of sorts(people trapped in a remote location). But what makes this movie is the gory
carnage, and in a damn zombie movie, if you can't give good gory carnage, then you my friend, haven't made a real zombie movie.

The zombies themselves are great. Full face appliances were used, instead of the old Romero Dawn grey look. These suckers look dead. They look nasty. Plus great blood work, and intestines getting pulled out, you got a winner in the gore department. The acting is so so. The only stand out performance is that of the middle aged teenager in the movie (when you see it, you will know what I mean). The pacing is decent enough, but this was just a movie that was obviously made to cash
in on the zombie craze at the time.

There's not really alot to say about this flick, other than if you like Italian gore flicks, this is one for you. I just wish they made good rip-offs like this more often.
