PLOT
Michael is your typically horror book writer. Each page of his new book becomes more and more real with each chapter. As teh fiction becomes reality, Micahel finds himself searching for the truth in a serial killer's mind. But, could Michael be living the life of a serial killer or is there someone in the shadows playing with Michael. Its a scary tale with a twiztid ending.

4th Floor Pictures Serial Killer is a mixed bag. You have some great stuff in this flick, and I mean great. And some bad. Personally, I love the way the film is edited. But even though it isn't too distracting, the bad thing can also be said of what bothered me most about Serial Killer...the gore. It really isn't that the gore is bad, it's just almost shock value gore. You know the type, its one of the bad things about low budget horror movies. Basically, things like a stabbing that looks a little fake, simply because the shot is held too long. I think it was Savini that said if you hold on an effect too long, if becomes an effect.
Also, the acting is a little off from the lead. When he gets angry I felt he was...acting. He just seemed a little fake, but other than that he does fine. THe rest of the cast does a decent enough job, especially considering how bad some acting in micro budget cinema is. But acting wise, we got cameos from a few faces. Ron Bonk for instance shows up and does his thing, as well as Phil Herman, and Ron Ford. But Joel Wynkoop steals the show. He gave me the willies, and I believe this man IS the best actor in low budget cinema. I love him!
Overall, a damn fine effort from 4th Floor. The directing and script are tight, and even though the budget shows through, I am looking foward to the Director's Cut of Serial Killer that Brain Damage films is coming out with. Check it out.
